Whitehouse Primary School’s outdoor play area has been successfully upgraded with a new sandpit thanks to the design and construction skills of a team from housebuilder Avant Homes North East
The project, which was done on a charitable basis with materials donated by J’s Timber, is part of the housebuilder’s ongoing commitment to supporting and enhancing the local communities where it builds.
Located on Dunhelm Road, Whitehouse Primary School is close to Avant Homes’ £24m, 65-home Summerville Quarter development.
The school’s new sandpit provides an enhanced play environment for the students, with a focus on fostering creativity, exploration and physical activity.
Commenting on the upgrade, Whitehouse Primary School’s headteacher, Jane Eyre, said: “We are very grateful to receive the kind donation of a sandpit from Avant Homes.
“It is lovely to know that businesses are interested and invested in our young people and their educational and developmental needs.”
Located on Harrowgate Lane, Summerville Quarter comprises a range of Avant Homes’ practically designed, energy-efficient three- and four-bedroom family homes.
