Transport in Bathgate
Our new builds in Bathgate are just a 5-minute drive (or 30-minute walk) away from Armadale Station. From here, you can catch regular trains to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and destinations as far as Helensburgh on the scenic Clyde Coast.
There are also a number of bus services that operate within Armadale, including Lothian Country Buses. The nearest bus stop is Avondale Drive, just a 6-minute walk away, which serves the 21 bus between Boghall and Blackridge.
You’ll be well situated to travel by car too, with the A89 a stone’s throw away from Honeyman Park. This route connects with the M8, allowing quick and easy travel between Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as west towards Greenock and the Clyde Coast, or east towards Dundee.
Thanks to these excellent transport links, both Edinburgh Airport and Glasgow Airport are less than an hour away by car, offering easy access to several international destinations ranging from Barcelona to Beijing, you’ll have the world at your fingertips.
Things to do around Bathgate
You’ll find a great mix of family activities and local gems to explore, as well as plenty of green space just a short drive from our new homes in Bathgate. For example, Beecraigs Country Park can be reached in 17 minutes by car, and is a favourite for walkers, cyclists and wildlife lovers alike. Closer to home, Blackmoss Nature Reserve is perfect for a relaxed weekend stroll.
Bathgate itself has a lovely town centre with a mix of cafés and restaurants. Stop by Cafebar 1912 for a delicious steak, or enjoy a night out at The Dreadnought Rock, a legendary live music venue.
Families will love the nearby Xcite Bathgate leisure centre, located 10 minutes away by car, which has a pool, gym and plenty of kids’ activities. For retail therapy, The Centre in Livingston is only a 20-minute drive, with over 150 shops and places to eat.
As for the weekly food shop, the closest big supermarket is Armadale Superstore, which you’ll find a 10-minute walk down the road. There’s also an Asda just over 2 miles away, as well as plenty more supermarkets in Bathgate town centre.
Schools in Bathgate
Our new build homes in Bathgate are ideally situated with plenty of excellent schools nearby, making them ideal for families looking to settle down in West Lothian.
For children aged 3 to 12, Armadale Primary School and Eastertoun Primary School are a 10-minute walk from Honeyman Park, offering a convenient and nurturing environment right in the heart of the community.
For older children aged 12 to 18, Armadale Academy is less than a 5-minute walk away from our development, making it a breeze to drop the kids off at school.
If you have little ones who aren’t quite old enough for school yet, there’s also a range of nurseries available nearby. ABC Tots is less than a mile away and takes in children aged 0 to 5, as does Wee Gems Nursery.
And if you’re looking for further education options, West Lothian College in Livingston can be reached in under 20 minutes by car, and offers a wide range of higher education courses in everything from Computing to Healthcare.
