With the A702 a 1-minute drive from our new builds in Penicuik, travelling to Edinburgh is very straightforward, whether you are commuting or going in for activities. The A701 to Peebles is also on the other side of the town, less than 5 minutes by car. And if you are travelling further north or west towards Glasgow, the M8 is a 10-mile drive from the development via The City of Edinburgh Bypass.
The nearest train station is 7 miles away and can be found in Slateford, where you can hop onto hourly trains to Glasgow, passing through the likes of Uddingston, West Calder and Kirknewton, and Edinburgh.
Anyone needing to take the bus will find the Willow Park Drive stop less than a 5-minute walk from Carnethy Heights, where you can catch the regular 101 service between Dumfries and Edinburgh. More services are also available at the Mauricewood Road stop (18-minute walk), including the 37 line, which runs through Roslin, Loanhead, Bilston and Milton Bridge.

Mauricewood Primary School is the closest primary school to Carnethy Heights (17-minute walk) for children between the ages of 4-12. Other primary schools for the same age group in Penicuik include Strathesk Primary School, Cuiken Primary School, Cornbank St James Primary School and Sacred Heart Primary School, all within a 2.5-mile radius of our development.
The two high schools for children between the ages of 11-18 are Beeslack Community High School, reachable on foot in 20 minutes, and Penicuik High School, 5 minutes away by car.
